Trend mine is located approximately 25 km south of Tumbler Ridge. The mine is owned and operated by Peace River Coal, which is 75% owned by Anglo American. The company states that "mining began at Trend in December 2005. The mine is permitted to produce up to 2 million tonnes of coal per year, for approximately ten years."
