Background

In 2024, Kinder Morgan announced the Trident Intrastate Project, a 216 mile pipeline that would transport gas to the "LNG and industrial corridor" near Port Arthur, Texas. Starting at 1500 MMcf/d, future expansions could bring capacity up to 2800 MMcf/d. Golden Pass LNG has signed on as an anchor shipper. The project received FERC approval in 2025.[2][1]

The project expects to begin operations in 2027.[2]
