Background

UltraTech Cement Limited is part of the Aditya Birla group.[3] UltraTech Cement is the largest manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) and one of the largest manufacturers of white cement in India.[4]

Awarpur Cement Works is an integrated plant with clinker production capacity of 3.3 million tonnes per annum (mtpa) and cement production capacity of 4.48 mtpa. The plant was commissioned in 1983 by Larsen and Tourbo (L&T) which was acquired by Aditya Birla Group in 2004.[5]
