Background
UltraTech Cement Limited is part of the Aditya Birla group.[3] UltraTech Cement is the largest manufacturer of grey cement and ready-mix concrete (RMC) and one of the largest manufacturers of white cement in India.[4]
A unit of UltraTech Cement Ltd. and flagship of the US $65 billion Aditya Birla Group, Birla White is a construction materials’ company with a specialization in white cement products.[5]
Birla White Kharia Khangar is one of the largest white cement plants in South East Asia, with an installed capacity of 0.56 million tonnes per annum (mtpa), and among the most technologically-advanced in the world. The plant was commissioned in 1988 with a capacity of 0.08 mtpa, the plant has expanded over a period of time by the debottlenecking of existing equipment, technology upgradation, modernisation and the commissioning of Line-II in 1997.[6]
