The Umaria underground Coal Mine has a designed capacity of 0.35 MTPA on a mining lease area of 512.54 ha in Umaria coalfield. It is operated by South Eastern Coalfields Limited. The project applied for its revalidation of the Environment Clearance in 2018 once again with a reduced mining lease area of 512.54 Ha from 857.6735 as mentioned in its EC dt 20 May 2005
