David joined GEM in 2022 as Digital Communications Manager and since April 2023 has worked as Communications Director. Before joining GEM, David worked for a number of years with grassroots groups in eastern Europe as the Communications Director for Bankwatch, a network of non-profits holding international finance to account. His work there appeared in publications including the Financial Times, Guardian and the New York Times, among others. He hold degrees in anthropology and economics from the University of Vermont and is conversant in Czech and German.
