Background

As of November 2021, the project was still in development, having received environmental approval, documents from the municipal government approving the site, an ICMS tax exemption on gas supply, and a water grant.[5] The plant was listed as a participant in Brazil's national energy auctions in September and December 2021.[6][7]

Project developer Rolugi Geração de Energia Elétrica maintains a timeline on its website showing the current status of the project.
