Background

The project was included in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines", released by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in May 2025. The pipeline is a branch of the Gryazovets-Leningrad Gas Pipeline and starts in the Sheksninsky district, Vologda region. In January 2024, it was reported that the front-end engineering design of the pipeline was in progress. As of August 2025, there have not been any updates about the project.
