Background

Wenzhou Huagang LNG Terminal is a proposed LNG terminal in Zheijang, China.

Huanfeng Group was planning to invest 10.6 billion yuan ($1.619 million) to develop the LNG terminal in Wenzhou in 3 phases. The first phase of the project, with an investment of about 2.8 billion yuan ($427.55 million), began construction in September 2020. The construction includes a 100,000-ton wharf, two 160,000 cubic meters of LNG storage tanks. The capacity of the terminal will reach 3 mtpa. It's expected to complete in 2023.

China Huanqiu Contracting & Engineering Co., Ltd. (中国寰球工程有限公司) is the EPC contractor of the project.

Construction had started by November 2020.

The EIA report of Wenzhou Huagang LNG wharf was open for public review in August 2022.

By January 2024, the construction is still ongoing.
