Background on Project

Guizhou Wanfeng Electric Power Co. is seeking environmental clearance for two 350 MW units and a 30 MW back-up unit for the town of Weishe. The plant would be part of the Xingyi integrated aluminum coal resources processing park. The plant is also known as the Weishe Industrial Park cogeneration power plant project, to supply heat and electricity to a silicon-manganese alloy smelter.[1][2]

The DRC of Guizhou Qianxinan AP listed Weshe power station as a "preparatory project" in its 2016 development plan, which means the project will not be developed in the near future.[3]

With no developments since 2016, the project appears to be abandoned.
