Background

The 2 x 1,000 MW coal plant was listed in Hunan province's 14th Energy five year plan (2021-2025). The project completed a preliminary feasibility study in May 2021.[1]

With no known updates in at least two years, the project may be shelved as of July 2023, but it was presumed "pre-permit" given related coal developments in the region. In December 2023, with no further news, the proposal was presumed to be shelved.
