Background

The power station previously housed a coal-fired power plant, which was shut down in 2015 and partially demolished in 2018.[3]

A gas-fired power plant with 3 units was developed by the owner, Zhejiang Zheneng Electric Power Company, [4] to replace the coal-fired units at the same site.[5]

Two gas-fired units started operation in 2008 and one unit started in 2012.[6] The gas units' total capacity was 1,220 MW.[4]
