Xiashijie Coal Mine (陕西陕煤铜川矿业有限公司下石节煤矿) is an underground coal mine located in Xiashijie, Yaoqu Township, Yaozhou District, Tongchuan City, Shaanxi Province, China.[1]

Coal Mine Background

Xiashijie Coal Mine belongs to Shaanxi Shanmei Tongchuan Mining Industry Co., Ltd. Construction began in 1970 and was completed and put into production in February 1980. It belongs to a coal, oil, and gas coexistence, extremely thick, high methane gas mine that is easy to ignite spontaneously. In 2010, the approved production capacity was 1.85 million tons/year.[2]The approved production capacity in 2018 was 1.85 million tons/year.[3]

On August 1, 2015, a mechanical accident occurred underground in the Xiashijie Coal Mine, and one person was killed.[4]
