Background

Yancheng LNG Terminal is a proposed 3 mtpa LNG import terminal in Jiangsu, China. The EIA was submitted by CNOOC in 2013.

In 2018 the project was reported to still be proposed.

The permit was received from NDRC in August 2018. The construction is scheduled for 2019 and operations are expected to start in 2021. The capacity of first phase is 3 mta.

Four 220,000 cubic meter storage tanks were completed in September 2020.

The first LNG shipment was unloaded at the terminal on September 26, 2022, indicating the operation of the LNG terminal.

Expansion projects

Phase I Expansion

Construction on the Phase I Expansion began in June 2021. The expansion will add six storage tanks with 270,000 cubic meters each. The total investment is 6.1 billion yuan. The operating is set at the end of 2023.
