Background

Datong Coal Mining Group has proposed a power station of two units of 350 MW each.[1]

The environmental impact assessment was approved in 2014.[2] Construction began in 2015.[3]

In October 2017 it was reported that trial operation on the plant was underway with connection to the grid expected shortly.[4]

Unit 1 achieved full load in November 2018,[5] and was commissioned on June 28, 2019.[6]

Unit 2 was commissioned in June 2019.[7]
