Background

Datong Coal Mining Group has proposed a power station of two units of 350 MW each.[2]

The environmental impact assessment was approved in 2014.[3] Construction began in 2015.[4]

In October 2017 it was reported that trial operation on the plant was underway with connection to the grid expected shortly.[5]

Unit 1 achieved full load in November 2018,[6] and was commissioned on June 28, 2019.[7]

Unit 2 was commissioned in June 2019.[8]
