Background

The project was announced in September 2018 as a joint venture between Yudean and Royal Golden Eagle. The construction and land reclamation from the sea began in February 2018. The estimated investment was 4.5 billion yuan ($685 million).

A ground breaking ceremony was held in August 2019. The receiving capacity was reportedly 2.8 mtpa.

The construction reportedly began in September 2021. The operating date is set at the beginning of 2024.

By October 2022, the construction is ongoing.

As of February 2024, no news about the operation is available.
