Background

The Yihua Pacific power station is a power plant that provides electricity to the Hubei Yihua Chemical Industry's facilities.[2]

In 2016, the Hubei Yihua Chemical Industry bought a 38.5% equity share of the Yichang Yihua Pacific Cogen company for 103.56 million RMB.[3]

In 2021, the power plant applied to transfer 210 tons of their hazardous waste to another facility, the Jiaozuo Xinke Resources Comprehensive Utilization Research and Development Co., Ltd., for disposal and utilization. The Hubei Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment approved this transfer in June 2021.[4]
