Background

Although this heavy fuel-oil fired plant was initially intended to be converted to be able to use natural gas in 2021, it was not until September of 2021 that finances were secured following New Fortress Energy's decision to invest in the project.[9][10] It is expected to begin operation in 2023.[11]
