Yulin Southwest New District Cogen power station (榆神榆横2×350MW热电联产工程项目) is an operating power station of at least 700-megawatts (MW) in New District, Yulin, Shaanxi, China with multiple units, some of which are not currently operating. It is also known as 榆林能源榆林西南新区热电项目.

Background on Project
Shaanxi Yulin Energy Group has proposed to build a 2 x 350 MW coal plant in New District, Yulin.[6]
The project was permitted October 15, 2021.[7]
Construction began in October 2022.[8]
Unit 1 saw construction continue in 2023[9], with the boiler heating surface hoisted in September[10], the cooling tower hoisted in November[11], the generator stator hoisted in November[12], and the turbine high-pressure module hoisted in December[13]. In 2024, the turbine cover was completed in June[14], a molten salt energy storage project review was held in August[15], the cooling tower was capped in August[16], and the DCS system power was received in December[17]. In March 2025, the boiler acid wash and ignition were completed[18], the unit was connected to the grid on May 9[19], and passed the 168-hour trial, entering commercial operation on May 30[20].
Phase II Unit 3 had EIA report preparation services tendered in July 2024[21]. In March 2025, the project was approved by the provincial DRC[22]. In February 2026, preliminary survey and design were tendered[23].
