Background
The 925 MW Zhangqiu power station provides electricity and heating to the Zhangqiu area in Shandong.[1][2] In 2002, the plant built its first phase, which consisted of two units (each 145 MW) totaling 767.6 million RMB (118.6 million USD). In 2006, the power plant constructed its second phase, consisting of two 335 MW units. In 2008, the plant produced 14.745 billion kilowatt-hours of power overall. The Zhangqiu power station's original plan included a third phase, consisting of four 600 MW units; however, these units have not been proposed officially yet.[3]
In 2013, the Huadian group added desulfurization, denitrification, and electrical dust removal technologies to the plant.[4]
In 2020, the plant implemented a water pollution prevention and control renovation project as part of a province-wide effort to reduce wastewater pollution.[5]
