Background

Zhanjiang power station is a four-unit coal-fired power plant with a total capacity of 1,320 MW. The plant was completed between 1995 and 2000, and is owned by Guangdong Yudean Group.[1][2]

In 2022, a new "relocated" 2 x 1,000 MW project was proposed, likely to replace or partly replace older units.[3]
