Bidding for the feasibility study and preliminary work full-process services opened in August 2023.[2] An environmental impact assessment notice for the ZTE Dongping 2×1 million kilowatt ultra-supercritical coal-fired power plant project was publicized in January 2024.
No construction news was found, and satellite imagery showed no activity, leading to the project being shelved in April 2026.
