Coal Mine Background

The Zhundong South Surface Mine is operated by Xinjiang Tianchi Energy Co., Ltd. It is located in the west of Dajing Mining Area, Zhundong Coalfield, Xinjiang. The planned scale is 30 million tons/year, the first phase is 10 million tons/year, and the second phase is 20 million tons/year. The first phase of the project started in April 2009,[1] completed in December 2013 and passed environmental protection acceptance in August 2016.[2]
