该煤矿位于山西省大同市左云县水窑乡柏山村
煤矿背景
2009年，经由山西省煤矿企业兼并重组整合工作领导组批复，原左云县水窑乡芦草沟煤矿和帽帽山煤矿整合成为山西煤炭运销集团帽帽山煤业有限公司。省国土资源厅于2009年12月9日为其颁发了采矿许可证。[7]
2011年5月，山西省煤炭工业厅批准该项目开工建设。建设期间，因管理、投资、供电、政策等多重因素影响，该项目未能在批准的建设工期内完成建设。2018年12月，山西省能源局同意该煤矿项目建设工期延长11个月，至2019年11月13日。[8]
2022年7月帽帽山煤矿已经进入联合试运转阶段。[9]
帽帽山煤矿建设规模拟调整为600万吨/年。[10]
