2020年11月18日，国家能源局关于新疆阳霞矿区塔里克区二号矿井（轮台卫东煤矿）一期工程项目进行核准批复，矿井建设规模为120万吨/年。

该项目环境影响报告于2021年9月9日获中国环境生态部批复，但在批复前已开工建设。
