Aichi Steel Chita plant (Tokai) (愛知製鋼知多), also known as Aichi steel- Hagane Company, Chita Plant, Toyoda Steel (predecessor), is a steel plant in Chita, Aichi, Tokai, Japan that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

The Aichi Steel Chita plant (Tokai) began operating in 1943 under Aichi Steel.[1]

In 2016, an explosion at the plant damaged the furnace of the No.2 Bar Mill Shop and had to suspend operations temporarily. Luckily, it seems that no employees were injured.[2][3]

In March 2023, the plant announced the expansion of its stainless steel production capacity by 40% to an annual capacity of 90 ttpa by 2026.[4]

In 2023, Steel Plantech renovated Aichi steel plant's EAF #1.[5]
