ArcelorMittal Duisburg steel plant, also known as ArcelorMittal Ruhrort, ArcelorMittal Hochfeld GmbH, ISPAT Stahlwerk Ruhrort GmbH (predecessor), Mittal Steel Ruhrort GmbH (predecessor), ArcelorMittal Ruhrort GmbH (predecessor), is a basic oxygen furnace (BOF) steel plant operating in Duisburg, North Rhine-Westphalia, Germany.

Background

The Duisburg steel plant originally started production in 1854 and was operating 8 blast furnaces by 1912; the last of these shut down in 1993. [1]

The company has announced plans to transition from BOF to EAF steelmaking by 2030.[2][3]
