Bafgh Mineral Complex Iron and Steel Yazd plant (مجتمع فولاد بافق), also known as Bafq Steel Complex, B-MISCO, Bafq Steel, is a steel plant in Bafgh, Yazd, Iran that operates direct reduced iron (DRI) and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.

Background

The Bafgh Steel Complex opened in 2021, with Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) units with capacities of 0.8 million and 1.2 million tons per year of capacity respectively.[1][2] An additional DRI unit with 1.7 million tons per year in capacity was under construction as of 2025.[3] The company planned to inaugurate 50 MW solar and gas power stations to supply electricity for the plant in 2026.[4]
