Background
This power station is located alongside the Bayernoil oil refinery, and supplies part of the energy demand of the refinery.[8] It uses a gas-fired steam-turbine to generate 25 MW of combined heat-and-power (CHP) at the refinery.[9]
On February 7, 2019, VARO (an energy company largely owned by the Carlyle Group) became the majority shareholder in the Bayernoil Refinery Network.[10] More information about this deal can be found on GEM's "Carlyle's Private Equity Investments" Wiki page.
