Bonab Steel Complex (مجتمع فولاد صنعت بناب, مجتمع فولاد ظفر بناب), also known as Shahin Bonab, Banab Sanat Steel Company, Shahin Bonab Steel Complex, is a steel plant in Bonab, East Azerbaijan, Iran that operates direct reduced iron (DRI), electric arc furnace (EAF), and induction furnace (IF) technology.

Background
The Bonab Steel Complex is planned to be one of the largest steel plants in East Azerbaijan province. As of December 2025, it operates seven steelmaking furnaces split between two facilities. The first, Foolad Sanat Shahryar, includes five induction furnaces (IF), each with 100,000 tons per year in steel capacity.[1] The other, Foolad Shahin Bonab, contains one IF with 180,000 tons per year in capacity, and an Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) with 320,000 tons per year in capacity.[2] A new phase under construction is set to include 1.5 million tons per year each in Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and EAF capacity.[3] In May 2025, a new rail link to the plant opened.[4]
