CNR Mandan Steel South Kalimantan plant, also known as China Nickel Resources, Mandan Steel, is a steel plant in unknown, South Kalimantan, Indonesia that operates blast furnace (BF) and basic oxygen furnace (BOF) technology.
Location
The map below shows the approximate location of the plant in unknown, South Kalimantan, Indonesia:
- Location: Jl. Transmigrasi KM.15 Dusun III Kab. Tanah Bumbu Kalimantan Selatan, Indonesia
- Coordinates (WGS 84): -3.339296, 115.927125 (approximate)
Background
The company was established in 2008 and is a subsidiary of Hong Kong listed CNR Group Holdings Pte Ltd.[1] The construction of the plant began in 2012 and became operational in 2014 with a capacity of 1 mtpa.[2][3] The stage 1 development is based on the overall relocation of the equipment from Yongan Special Steel, a former wholly owned subsidiary of the CNR Group Holdings[4]. Due to the Export Ban in 2013, the Group was seeking other financing sources to facilitate the development of the project [4].
