Background

The Chickahominy Pipeline project was planned to transport natural gas from Transco’s existing pipeline in Charlottesville to the then proposed Chickahominy Power project in Charles City County. The pipeline will be 83-miles long with plans to parallel existing utility lines for 40% of its route. The route passes through Louisa, Hanover, Henrico, New Kent and Charles City Counties in Virginia.

PJM Interconnection cancelled Chickahominy Power's interconnection service agreement citing failure to meet milestones. FERC upheld the decision to remove the pipeline from permitting queue.[3][4] In February 2022, Chickahominy Power notified that project has been put on hold and that the previously scheduled public open house on February 21, 2022 in Montpelier has been cancelled.[2][5]
