Background
Chizhou Guichi District Guihang Metal Products Co., Ltd., as a steel factory, has a 90t electric furnace.[1] The company has an annual production capacity of 1 million tons of steelmaking, 1 million tons of steel rolling and 0.15 million tons of deep-processing special steel.[2]
In March 2014, the Anhui Environmental Protection Department announced the illegal production and excessive sewage discharge of Chizhou Guichi District Guihang Metal Products Co., Ltd., and asked the local environmental protection department to order it to stop production and rectify.[3]
According to the project capacity replacement plan announcement in January 2023, a 1×130ton electric arc furnace and 2×130ton ladle furnace are planned to be constructed, with a scheduled start date in 2023, and 1×90t electric arc furnaces and 1×90t ladle furnace will be retired before the start of production.[4]
