Background
Crest Steel and Power Pvt Ltd got incorporated in 2005 for establishing a greenfield mini integrated steel plant.[1] The plant currently operates sponge iron rotary kilns and induction furnaces. According to a prefeasibility report published in May 2022, the company plans to expand capacity from 96 ttpa to over 900 ttpa by adding a 650 m3 blast furnace, two 60 ton electric arc furnaces and additional rotary kilns and induction furnaces. According to the prefeasibility report, the construction of two additional rotary kilns were 60% completed.[2] There has been no updates on the expansion since.
