Deep Mine 42 was a proposed underground coal mine, operated by Contura Energy, designed to produce 1.5 million tons of per annum, in Dickenson, Virginia, United States.[1]

The company removed the project from it's list of active developments during a presentation to investors on February 10, 2020. There have been no public updates on the project since. As a result, it appears to be shelved. [2]
