Background

The Delta Steel Mill, opened in 1947, is one of the oldest steel manufacturing facilities in Egypt and the Middle East. It is located in Qalyubia governorate, but within the metropolitan Cairo area, and is surrounded by dense neighborhood of Shubra Al Khaymah.
