Dinson Chivhu iron and steel plant, also known as Tsingshan Dinson, DISCO, Manhize plant, is a steel plant in Chivhu, Midlands, Zimbabwe that operates electric arc furnace (EAF), blast furnace (BF), and steelmaking technology.

Background

In order to construct the plant, 100 families had to be displaced without relocation assistance from Dinson. Residents are also concerned about how the steel plant’s emissions will impact the global climate crisis and how their operations will impact local food insecurity.[1]
