Background
The Ganda Alam Makmur coal mine (GAM) is an opencast mine, operated by PT Ganda Alam Makmur, a subsidiary of LG International and partners Titan Infra Energy, with a capacity of 4 million tonnes-per-annum (MTPA) in Sangkulirang, East Kutai, East Kalimantan, Indonesia.[7]
In 2019, the company proposed an expansion of the mine to 20 million tonnes per annum.[7] The expansion appears to have gone into operation with the mine exceeding capacity and producing 10 million tonnes in 2020.[8] PT Ganda Alam Makmur, a subsidiary of LG International and partners Titan Infra Energy, operates the GAM mine.
