GFG Liberty Steel Rotherham plant, also known as Rotherham Steel and Bar, is an electric arc furnace (EAF) steel plant operating in Rotherham, England, United Kingdom.

Background

According to the USGS 2016 Minerals Yearbook, Liberty Steel Rotherham stopped production in 2016[1] but it has since resumed operations.[2]

Further, in January 2023 the company announced plans to expand the plant's EAF capacity to 2000 ttpa.[3] The timeline for the expansion has not been specified, though it is assumed to be 2030 as part of Liberty Steel's Carbon Neutral by 2030 plan.[4]
