Gazli-Shymkent Gas Pipeline (Russian: Магистральный газопровод «Газли-Шымкент») is an operating gas pipeline running from Uzbekistan to Kazakhstan.[1]

Project details

Background

Gazli-Shymkent Gas Pipeline and Bukhara-Tashkent-Bishkek-Almaty Gas Pipeline were constructed in the USSR to supply South Kazakhstan with gas from the Gazli gas field in Uzbekistan.[8]

Environment and social impacts

In 2019 the gas leak at the seventy-sixth kilometer of the pipeline caused a fire.[9]
