Golgohar Iron and Steel Company Kerman (شرکت توسعه آهن و فولاد گل گهر), also known as Gol Gohar Steelmaking Complex, Golgohar Iron and Steel Development Company, GISCO, GISDCO, is a steel plant in Sirjan, Kerman, Iran that operates electric arc furnace (EAF) and direct reduced iron (DRI) technology.

Background

Since it opened in 2015, the Gol Gohar Iron and Steel plant has taken iron from the Gol Gohar mines and processed it into Direct Reduced Iron (DRI) and crude steel. The plant includes three DRI units with a total capacity of 5.55 million tons per year, making this one of the largest DRI plants in Iran and in the world.[1] It also includes two Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) units, with 3.3 million tons per year in steelmaking capacity.[2]
