Background

The Ring of the Moscow Region Gas Pipeline and the Gryazovets-Ring of the Moscow Region Gas Pipeline run parallel to each other when forming a circle around the city of Moscow and the Moscow Oblast.

Modernization of one segment of the pipeline (from Noginsk compressor station to Voskresensk compressor station) to increase capacity of the ring pipeline of the Moscow Oblast to 90 bcm/y was included in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines" issued by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in May 2023.
