Background

The pipeline sources from the Elshansky field[1].

The Ring of the Moscow Region Gas Pipeline and the Gryazovets-Ring of the Moscow Region Gas Pipeline run parallel to each other when forming a circle around the city of Moscow and the Moscow Oblast.[6]

Initially, the diameter of the pipeline was 800 mm. According to the Gazprom's Comprehensive Program for Retrofitting and Upgrade of Gas Infrastructure for 2016-2020, the pipeline was to be upgraded to increase the diameter to 1200 mm.[6] As of August 2023, no further information is available.

Modernization of two segments of the pipeline was included in the list of "Planned Transmission Gas Pipelines" issued by the Ministry of Energy of Russia in May 2015 and revised in May 2023.[7]
