Background

Guzn Coal Mine is a surface mine in Kuhistoni Mastchoh district, Sughd, Tajikistan. The mine is owned and operated by LLC "Kudrat-2010".

The Guzn coal deposit is located in the Kuhistoni Mastchoh district of Sughd province in northern Tajikistan. Mining at the deposit began in 2008. The mine uses open-pit mining method. The coal produced at the Guzn deposit is classified as anthracite.

In 2024, the mine produced 0.27 million tonnes of coal. It is expected, that by 2030 the mine would be producing 500 thousand tonnes of coal per annum.
