BKİ Batı Kömür operates the mine, which is owned by Atay Holding. Harmanlı Coal Mine started production in 2016 as a surface mine, and has the capacity to produce 0.4 million tons a year. In 2019, BKİ decided to invest in an underground mine in the same coalfield that would increase production by 0.6 million tons.[1][2]
