Background
The Velestino plant began operation in 1974 under the company Hellenic Halyvourgia. In 2006, the company merged with Halyvourgia of Thessaly.[1]
In 2011 there was a significant labor dispute at the company, with a strike lasting from November 2011 until February 2012.[2]
