Background

The 2019 OECD report on Latest developments in steelmaking capacities mentioned the announcement of the Hao Sen Phu My Steel Plant.[1] In 2022, Vietnam Hao Sen group announced that it abandoned its unfinished construction of a blast furnaces of a total capacity of 6.0 million tonnes a year, an investment of $10 billion.[2] There has been no update on the developments of the plant since.
