Background

Huadian Wuxue Huangshi cogen power station is a relocation and expansion project of Huangshi power station. The plant location has been moved from Hubei Huangshi City to Wuxue City, and the capacity is expanded from 330 MW to 1320 MW (2 x 660 MW)[1].

The feasibility study was conducted in 2022[1] and permission to build was granted on 17 January 2023[2]. The environmental impacts assessment report was released in mid-June 2023[3].
