Background

Production at the plant is scrap-based.[2]

Power

İÇDAŞ Çelik Enerji Tersane ve Ulaşım Sanayi A.Ş., the owner of the İÇDAŞ Biga steel plant, produces energy, iron and steel. Energy production by İÇDAŞ is managed under İÇDAŞ Electric Production and Investment A.Ş[3]

İÇDAŞ operates a coal-fired power plant called İÇDAŞ Biga power station on the site of the steel plant.[4]

The İÇDAŞ Biga steel plant also uses power generation via waste recovery from steel making processes.[5]

Solar panels are visible on the roof of the İÇDAŞ Biga steel plant in satellite imagery.

Port

İÇDAŞ also operates the İÇDAŞ Port, through which raw materials for steel production are imported and steel products are exported.[6]

LNG
