Inner Mongolia Mingtuo Ferrite New Material Co Ltd (明拓铁素体不锈钢有限公司, 内蒙古明拓铁素体新材料有限公司), also known as Mingtuo Ferritic Stainless Steel Co., Ltd., is a steel plant in Jiuyuan, Baotou, Inner Mongolia, China that operates blast furnace (BF) and electric arc furnace (EAF) technology.
The company is establishing a 1.6 million tons per year rare earth ferritic stainless steel project. Currently, the initial procedures for the first phase of the project, an 800,000-ton ferritic stainless steel project, have been completed. The total investment for the project is 6 billion yuan. After the completion of the entire project, it is expected to generate an additional output value of 12 billion yuan and a profit and tax revenue of 1.2 billion yuan, forming a "chromite ore - high carbon ferrochrome - stainless steel" industrial chain. The main equipment of the project includes the construction of a 1,250 cubic meter blast furnace in the ironmaking section, along with a supporting 180 square meter sintering system with a capacity of 1.1 million tons. In the steelmaking section, there will be the construction of two 110-ton iron dephosphorization stations, one 120-ton EAF electric furnace, one 120-ton AOD-L converter, one 120-ton SS-VOD vacuum refining furnace, one 120-ton LF ladle refining furnace, and one 1600MM single-strand slab continuous casting machine. The annual production capacity will be 800,000 tons of stainless steel molten steel and 768,000 tons of stainless steel continuous casting billets.[1][2]
